Sydney Harbour Federation Trust – North Head Buildings 16 & 17 Electrical and Mechanical Upgrade Advisory

Lucas Construction Group was engaged to provide independent construction advisory and client-side project management support for planned electrical and mechanical upgrade works to Buildings 16 and 17 at the North Head precinct.

The engagement focused on supporting the client through design coordination, procurement preparation and delivery planning, with a specific emphasis on constructability, staging, interface risk and transition from design into procurement.

Advisory services provided included:

  • constructability and sequencing review of design documentation

  • identification of coordination gaps and scope interfaces

  • participation in consultant coordination and design progression discussions

  • preparation and review of contractor and trade scopes of work

  • review of tender documentation and clarification of scope intent

  • advisory input during contractor engagement and early procurement discussions

  • delivery planning, staging and access advice to support future construction activities

  • client-side support on programme, risk and delivery considerations

This engagement supported the client in strengthening design readiness, improving scope clarity and reducing procurement and delivery risk for planned services upgrade works within a sensitive and operational heritage precinct.
